In the midst of the flu season, it can be easy to miss the dramatic effect of the season, experts say.
While there’s a tendency to view seasonal flu as a cold, flu pandemics can actually be highly infectious.
That means a virus is circulating and it can make you feel sick.
If you miss the flu, you’re likely to be exposed to a lot of flu.
There are a few tips to make the flu a little less dramatic:Avoid wearing masks or gloves.
If your immune system isn’t up to the task, wearing a mask and gloves can make it harder to get the flu.
Use a nasal spray or cough syrup to stop coughing.
If possible, try not to breathe in any air containing flu-causing particles, such as the viruses and bacteria that can be spread by coughing or sneezing.
Avoid getting infected with a virus that is already circulating.
Some viruses can cause flu-like symptoms, but they usually don’t cause severe illness.
If you are experiencing symptoms of the pandemic, call your doctor or health care provider.
